America's Best Cleaners Affiliate Meeting

America's Best Cleaners will host its semi-annual Affiliate Meeting on June 7-9 in Louisville, Ky. Affiliates from across the country will gather for three days of presentations and discussions around industry and general business best practices.

Local affiliate NuYale Cleaners is hosting the meeting. Attendees and guests will tour NuYale's 40,000-square-foot production facility.

Confirmed speakers include Terri Weber, opportunity manager for the Greater Louisville Inc. — The Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Kathleen Hoye, director of the Family Business Center at the University of Louisville.

DLI Releases Bedbug Poster

LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) has issued a poster for member cleaners promoting drycleaning as the consumer’s best bet for sanitizing bedbug-infested items. The poster features a man cowering in bed at the thought of becoming a victim of the bedbug epidemic.

Nu Yale Takes Louisville’s Green Award

Louisville, Ky. — Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI), the city’s chamber of commerce organization, recently recognized Nu Yale Cleaners with an Inc.redible award for Greening/Sustainability.

The award is one of eight that GLI gives out at its annual Celebration of Small Business luncheon. In order to qualify for the Greening/Sustainability award, a company must manufacture “green” products or follow green practices assiduously.

Nu-Yale Wins ABC Affiliate of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Nu-Yale Cleaners, a chain with locations throughout the Louisville area, recently won America’s Best Cleaners’ (ABC) Affiliate of The Year Award.

Nu-Yale, a long-time Indiana 5-Star award-winning cleaner, switched to the Solvair cleaning system last year to promote a “green” message, and has seen strong business growth despite the down economy, ABC says.
