LAS VEGAS — WesVic Systems has signed a deal with Sumisho Inax Corp., the largest distributor to drycleaners and industrial laundries in Japan, to distribute WesVic’s PieceCounter production monitoring system to the Japanese market. Inax has more than 4,800 customers, WesVic says.

BEIJING, China — Texcare Asia 2009, featuring more than 130 exhibitors in what organizer Messe Frankfurt is calling the “largest one yet,” opened here Wednesday at the China International Exhibition Centre.

Exhibitors from 17 countries and regions are represented in Hall 8 of the large exhibition hall complex. The Texcare Asia exhibition floor covers roughly 10,000 square meters (32,808 square feet).

TORONTO — Parkers Custom Clothing Care, headquartered here, has installed Canada’s first Solvair drycleaning machines.

“We are the first drycleaner in Canada, and among the very first in the world, next to the U.S. and Japan, to use this new, environmentally friendly Solvair Cleaning System,” says Gary Fine, president of Parkers.

SHANGHAI, China – Texcare Asia 2007 – the largest industry show in the Far East – welcomed thousands of visitors during its three-day run, but it was the visitor that didn’t arrive about whom most people were talking.

The International Trade Fair for Modern Textile Care opened on time here Sept. 19, even as this country’s financial center braced for what was being forecast as the worst typhoon to strike China in a decade.

SHANGHAI, China — Texcare Asia 2007 — the largest industry show in the Far East — was scheduled to open on time today in Shanghai, even as residents braced for more heavy rains resulting from the worst typhoon to make landfall in China in a decade.

More than 2 million people were evacuated from Shanghai and the coastal provinces of Fujian and Zhejiang in advance of Typhoon Wipha. The “super typhoon” passed north of Taiwan early on Tuesday morning (local time), packing winds of more than 150 miles per hour.
