FRANKFURT, Germany — Social feel to Texcare International, as exhibitors serve beer and food

FRANKFURT, Germany — Texcare International—the World Market for Modern Textile Care—resumed Sunday at the Messe Frankfurt Congress Center and attracted what appeared to be a steady crowd.

Some exhibitors say they are expecting larger numbers today, the first weekday of the 2012 event.

The makeup and design of the various exhibit booths vary widely, with smaller booths often filled to capacity with equipment or supplies. Some of the larger, more spacious booths house several pieces of equipment, while others resemble cafes or even discos—one exhibitor has a disco ball hanging above its space.

There’s certainly a social feel to Texcare, with many exhibitors serving beer and food to attendees.

FRANKFURT, Germany — There are 264 exhibitors hailing from 26 countries

FRANKFURT, Germany — Energy and resource efficiency are key factors in the professional textile care sector, and sustainable and efficient technology and processes for dry cleaners, laundries and textile service providers were on display as Texcare International opened its five-day run on Saturday.

There are 264 exhibitors hailing from 26 countries in Hall 8 and the adjoining Galleria. “The mood in the sector is very good,” says Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, who accompanied media members during a guided tour of the show floor. “Hall 8 is fully booked up. All international market leaders have registered and will present their cutting-edge technologies. They expect the world’s leading trade fair for their sector to generate powerful business impulses.”

Marzin likened Texcare to the “Olympics of textile care,” referencing the show’s every-four-years cycle.

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany — Around 250 exhibitors and 15,000 trade visitors expected

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany — Sustainability will be the dominant theme of Texcare International — World Market for Modern Textile Care when it returns here in two weeks.

Show organizer Messe Frankfurt says all international market leaders—including the Alliance International brands, Barbanti, Beirholms Vaeverier, Ecolab, Girbau, Heprotex, Jensen, Kannegiesser, Kreussler, LG Electronics, Lavatec Laundry Technology, Macpi, Miele, Multimatic, Pellerin Milnor, Renzacci and Veit—have registered to exhibit during the May 5-9 show.

Altogether, Messe Frankfurt expects to welcome around 250 exhibitors and 15,000 trade visitors. As in previous shows (the event is staged every four years), the proportion of manufacturers from outside Germany will exceed 60%; the most important exhibitor nations besides Germany are Italy and the United States, Messe Frankfurt says.

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany — Texcare International, the World Market for Modern Textile Care, will concentrate more than ever on sustainability when it returns to Frankfurt am Main, Germany, May 5-9.

Approximately 250 exhibitors will be on hand with products and services related to resource conservation, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and more.

“This is the main driving force because the laundry and drycleaning sector has a great resource-saving potential,” says Elgar Straub, director general of VDMA Garment and Leather Technology. “The manufacturers are well aware of their overall social responsibility and, at Texcare International, present the innovations that make a contribution to greater sustainability, for example, plant and processes that reduce water consumption, increase energy efficiency, treat waste water and ensure optimum detergent dosage.”

Messe Frankfurt, manager of Texcare International, has expanded the online services available to visitors and exhibitors preparing to visit the May 5-9, 2012, exhibition in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The www.texcare.com website has been fully revised and is now oriented more toward the needs of individual user groups. Each can find information of relevance to them via special entry points.

An interactive floor plan will enable users to see the exact locations of the various exhibitors in the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, and the latest show news will be published regularly in a free newsletter available by subscribing online.

Texcare will be launching a smartphone application that will enable users to find exhibitors quickly and easily, as well as call up topical information about lectures and other events.

The app incorporates an exhibitor and visitor search engine with an interactive plan of the Exhibition Centre, the program of events, and more. It will be available approximately three months prior to the show.

Texcare International is now also represented on Facebook and Twitter.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Gerald “Jerry” Lieberman, founder of B&G Lieberman, died Thursday at his home while surrounded by his family. He was 86.

Lieberman was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Munich, Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1939, was drafted in 1942, and was given his citizenship. He volunteered to the MISB(A), the Soldiers of the 7th Military Information Battalion, and was trained as an interrogator of German soldiers captured during World War II.

In 1949, he started his B&G Lieberman Co., which today is a distributor of sewing equipment and supplies to dry cleaners and tailors. He was a community and environmental activist, serving in various capacities for many organizations during his lifetime.

A memorial service celebrating his life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church in Charlotte, with military honors to follow.

BEIJING, China — Suppliers from China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United States have confirmed their participation in Texcare Asia, the region’s foremost trading platform for modern textile care. It is scheduled for Nov. 17-19 at the China International Exhibition Center.

Held every other year, the trade fair consistently attracts key players such as Castic-SMP, Dow, Hoffman/New Yorker, Jensen Group, Maxi Companies, Primus, Pony, Via-trade and Weishi, says Messe Frankfurt, the show’s organizer.

These suppliers and more—the exhibitor list is at 110 companies—will present a range of sophisticated, energy-efficient washing, drying and ironing technologies in a trade space of more than 10,000 square meters (approximately 32,000 square feet).

China’s laundry and drycleaning market presents what Messe Frankfurt calls “significant opportunities” for suppliers of resource-saving technologies as the Chinese government implements a raft of measures to reduce its CO2 emissions by 45% by 2020.

BEIJING, China — Texcare Asia 2009, featuring more than 130 exhibitors in what organizer Messe Frankfurt is calling the “largest one yet,” opened here Wednesday at the China International Exhibition Centre.

Exhibitors from 17 countries and regions are represented in Hall 8 of the large exhibition hall complex. The Texcare Asia exhibition floor covers roughly 10,000 square meters (32,808 square feet).

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The German company Ziermann Holding is buying all of Sail Star GmbH & Co. KG’s shares of Böwe Textile Cleaning GmbH. The agreement will include Böwe subsidiaries in Spain, China and the U.K.

The sale and transfer will be effective Jan. 1, 2010, and at the end of the year, the Böwe production unit in Augsburg, Germany, will close.

Texcare Asia has already signed 60 top industry brands as exhibitors, according to show planner Messe Frankfurt, with four months to go until the show kicks off in Beijing, China. MUNICH, Germany — Multinational industrial-gas giant Linde AG announced a 50 million euro ($66.7 million) rollout of Fred Butler brand drycleaning plants and stores throughout Europe. Fred Butler uses a liquid carbon dioxide process exclusively to clean clothing, making this the biggest commitment to the alternative process in industry history.
