NEW ORLEANS — FRSTeam by King Fine is opening a new FRSTeam fabric restoration location, called FRSTeam of Central and Southern Louisiana, to serve customers from Alexandria through southern Louisiana.

FRSTeam by King Fine and FRSTeam of Central and Southern Louisiana provide specialty fabric restoration cleaning for clothing, window coverings, taxidermy and textiles soiled by fire, smoke, water, mold and other contaminants.

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Maytag Commercial Laundry team members volunteered at a New Orleans Habitat for Humanity build as part of the Coin Laundry Association’s (CLA) LaundryCares Foundation just before the Clean Show. Maytag Commercial Laundry contributed 18 volunteers to a team of about 30 commercial laundry industry professionals.

During the full day of work in the New Orleans heat, the volunteers worked on siding and exterior painting. Clay Jackson, the Maytag Repairman advertising spokesman, visited the site to help keep morale strong.

And this year’s show was no exception, as the two biggest industry associations and a solvent company threw cocktail receptions.

NEW ORLEANS — I have visited New Orleans on several occasions, but this is the first time that I’ve seen Christmas decorations, or for that matter, Santa Claus marching in a jazz funeral. This is also the first time that I encountered weather here that wasn’t as warm as the Cajun cuisine.

The Clean Show’s Executive Committee met in New Orleans recently to observe personally that the city is ready for Clean ’09, scheduled for June 18-21, 2009 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The group met at the Astor Crowne Plaza near the French Quarter, visited with the new president of the Morial Convention Center, toured the facility, and and met with executives of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau.
