Rebranding Campaign Garners National Advertising Award for New Orleans Cleaner

NEW ORLEANS — Young’s Dry Cleaning’s rebranding campaign after Katrina earns ADDY award

NEW ORLEANS — After Hurricane Katrina destroyed everything their family had worked to build since 1940, the owners of Young’s Dry Cleaning teamed with local advertising agency CPR + Partners to completely redevelop their brand.

The resulting Young’s campaign went on to be recognized in local and regional ad competitions organized by the American Advertising Federation. Next, the campaign stood toe to toe against the best advertising in the country, earning the Lakeview cleaners a 2012 national silver ADDY® award in the category of Mixed Media, Local Consumer.

The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising across media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world.

Since launching their new brand and advertising campaign less than two years ago, Young’s free pick-up and delivery business has continued to steadily increase, according to the company.

Booth Sales for Drycleaning and Laundry Expo Opens

WILLOW GROVE, Pa. — Exhibit space for the Drycleaning and Laundry Expo 2012, scheduled for Oct. 6-7 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, is now available.

The trade show will feature a full range of dry cleaning, wet cleaning and coin-op machinery, supplies and related equipment, as well as seminars and social events.

The prospectus has been mailed to previous exhibitors and to companies that have expressed interest, but it’s also available at www.pdclean.org, the website for the expo sponsor, the Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association.

Texcare International Manager Expands Show’s Online Services

Messe Frankfurt, manager of Texcare International, has expanded the online services available to visitors and exhibitors preparing to visit the May 5-9, 2012, exhibition in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The www.texcare.com website has been fully revised and is now oriented more toward the needs of individual user groups. Each can find information of relevance to them via special entry points.

An interactive floor plan will enable users to see the exact locations of the various exhibitors in the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, and the latest show news will be published regularly in a free newsletter available by subscribing online.

Texcare will be launching a smartphone application that will enable users to find exhibitors quickly and easily, as well as call up topical information about lectures and other events.

The app incorporates an exhibitor and visitor search engine with an interactive plan of the Exhibition Centre, the program of events, and more. It will be available approximately three months prior to the show.

Texcare International is now also represented on Facebook and Twitter.

Clean to Offer Korean-Language Education

ATLANTA — For the first time, the Clean Show will offer Korean-language educational sessions when the Las Vegas Convention Center hosts the event June 6-9. Two hours of Korean-language sessions are scheduled on each of three mornings. A Korean trade publication is sponsoring the program.

MySpace Lets Small Businesses Market to Specific Segments of its User Base

NEW YORK — Drycleaners and other small-business owners may not have the resources for a national online ad campaign, but MySpace now offers a self-service graphical “display” advertising platform that lets small businesses and individuals target their marketing to its vast audience by characteristics such as gender, geography and more.

The News Corp.-owned company’s MyAds advertising platform was released in “beta” test phase in late September after a three-month closed test.
