GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — An unknown party or group is making calls to drycleaners claiming to have a large rug order in an attempt to defraud them of money.

John Dame, president of MyDoor Dry Cleaning and 24/7 Dry Cleaners, says that the perpetrators are using the telephone company’s TDD service — a teletype system used by the deaf to make calls — to maintain anonymity, relaying their requests through an unsuspecting live operator.

PACE helps businesses go beyond compliance to address nonregulatory waste issues in response to increasing concerns over air pollution, waste reduction and health effects from chemical exposure.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — A company known as Door-To-Door Dry Cleaning is launching a franchising push that includes a nationwide series of seminars focusing on start-up and conversion opportunities.

Based in Colorado, Door-To-Door Dry Cleaning claims to be one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry and is targeting rapid expansion through franchising. The company says it will begin serving six franchisees in the Denver metro area as soon as it opens a central plant this spring.

LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) is seeking two directors for its Western Districts 7 and 8. Those selected will take over the regions when the current directors’ terms expire next June.

David “Dryclean Dave” Silliman currently represents District 7, and owns Uptowne Drycleaning Inc. in Phoenix, Ariz. The district covers a 10-state region comprised of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, and Washington.
