ARLINGTON, Texas — The Southwest Drycleaners Association (SDA) says that in spite of a weak economy, its Cleaners Showcase 2008 trade show is winning the most enthusiastic response in years.
Set for Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 6 at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas, the show is a near-sellout, SDA says. More than 200 exhibit spaces have been reserved by 95 industry exhibitors.
“In spite of all we hear about current economic conditions, this is clearly the best show response we’ve had in years,” says Andy Stanley, SDA executive director. “Our region is about to break the national mold, and we’re grateful for the industry’s support.”
SDA expects record numbers of attendees, as well. Although the show’s headquarters hotel, the Sheraton Arlington, has sold out of rooms, the association has arranged special rates at two nearby hotels to handle the influx of operators.
Halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, Arlington is 15 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Nearby entertainment options in the area include a Six Flags amusement park and the Texas Rangers’ Ameriquest Field.
In addition to the exhibit floor, Cleaners Showcase will offer a full slate of educational programs with Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) CEO Bill Fisher, marketing expert Laura Barron, DLI garment analyst Chris Allsbrooks and others.
