BROCKTON, Mass. — Zoots, Massachusetts’ premier drycleaning company, and Tweeds Dry Cleaning, the No. 1 family-owned operation in New Jersey, announced they have merged. Together, the companies will have sales in excess of $15 million per year, employ 300 workers and serve more than 150,000 customers.
“As Zoots continues to solidify its market-leading position in Massachusetts, the company is pleased to partner with a family-owned business that boasts more than 75 years combined industry experience,” say Trish O’Leary and Rick Simoneau, Zoots’ managing directors. “This partnership will ensure the delivery of even greater service to our customers.”
The equity partnership will create efficiencies and capitalize on growth opportunities, the companies say. Zoots and Tweeds alike are known for their use of “green” drycleaning processes and delivery services. Stores will continue to operate under their existing brands while sharing management.
“Tweeds Dry Cleaning’s unparalleled industry experience offering New Jersey residents high-quality, revolutionary drycleaning solutions is the perfect complement to an industry-leading brand like Zoots,” says Art Katz, Tweeds president. “By combining forces with Zoots, Tweeds can build even further on the 75 years of combined experience we have as third-generation owners and operators of high-end drycleaning businesses.”
