ENCINITAS, Calif. — The City of Encinitas, Calif., has introduced the first reusable drycleaning/laundry bag pilot program in the United States, using the Green Garmento bag to help eliminate the use of single-use plastic drycleaning bags.

As a part of the city’s second annual “Day Without A Bag,” more than 40 people took part in the pilot program, including city council members, commission members and city staff, each of whom received two Green Garmento reusable garment bags.

The Green Garmento is a three-in-one reusable garment bag that helps consumers keep their drycleaning routines more ecofriendly, the company says. They function as a space-saving hamper, a duffel bag for the trip to the drycleaner, and a hanging garment bag at pickup.
